Simple Ways To Prevent Stroke

DESCRIPTION

Queen's Speaking of Health Lecture Series - Punchbowl; Wednesday, May 31, 2017

Don't let stroke get the best of you, or worse. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, stroke is a leading cause of serious long-term disability; and it is the fifth leading cause of death for Americans.

May is American Stroke Month. What can you do to prevent a stroke? Would you be able to recognize the signs of a stroke? Queen's Neuroscience Institute, Hawaii's first Comprehensive Stroke Center designated by The Joint Commission, is pleased to present Kazuma Nakagawa, MD, FAAN, FAHA, neurointensivist and medical director of the Obstetric Neurovascular Service at Queen's, at the next Speaking of Health lecture. Learn about these factors that can impact your risk for stroke:

  • Blood pressure
  • Diet
  • Routine exercise
  • Stress
  • Obstructive sleep apnea
