Blended-Learning Course: Computer-Based Training with Instructor-Led Skills Practice and Testing.
For healthcare workers
HeartCode® BLS is an official, self-directed, comprehensive eLearning program from the American Heart Association (AHA). This program uses eSimulation technology to present realistic patient scenarios. Students are presented with 5 BLS cases and an online multiple-choice written exam. While interacting with the program, students assess each patient, formulate a treatment plan based on 2015 BLS guidelines, and provide treatment. *
Successful completion of Part 1, the and Parts 2 and 3, skills practice and testing with an AHA BLS Instructor are the requirements for obtaining an AHA BLS Healthcare Provider course completion card.
Heartcode® BLS includes three course parts :
1.Part 1, online cognitive portion of HeartCode® BLS
2.Part 2, a hands-on skills practice session with an authorized AHA BLS Instructor
3.Part 3, a skills testing where the student must demonstrate proficiency in providing BLS skills, including prioritizing chest compressions and integrating AED use
QMC offers the Heartcode course option ONLY to students who are recertifying.
We recommend that students taking BLS/HCP for the first time enroll in an instructor-led classroom-based BLS course.
